Dongtan Beach Refurbishments - 2017

On Friday, June 2nd, 2017 - Pattaya City Council began their proposed 12-month process to refurbish the current 2.2- meter wide red brick footpath, into a more modern, less dangerous, vehicularly challenged 15-meter wide thoroughfare to promote better pedestrian traffic during the day and a combined much safer, pedestrian and vehicular access environment along Dongtan Beach at night. At this present time these refurbisments will be restricted to a 930-meter area - from the 7/Eleven and Dongtan Beach Police Station on Thep Phraya Road, Jomtien to just before Pattaya Park. Then when this section is finally completed by (hopefully) June 2018, a further 850-meter area - to the very end of Pratamnuk Beach will be started. Please be advised that this Pattaya Park to Pratamnak Beach section for refurbishment is currently slated for completion by June 2019. Tui’s Place has been reliably informed that on completion of this necessary refurbishment by approximately June 2018, the gay beach just outside our entrance will be much, much safer to walk along at night and there should be additional benefits modernisation brings - such as: 1. Better drainage. So hopefully no more flooding and subsquent damage to the new thoroughfare during monsoon rain. 2. The removal of all current potholes to promote much safer walking and driving along the new, wider thoroughfare. So hopefully much reduced occassions of tripping and falling for pedestrians and/or chance of a flat tyre or vehicle damage for motorcycle and/or car drivers. 3. The irradication of present-day, stomach churning odours (also known as ‘Thai honk’ - Thank you Adrian) which can occassionally waft on and along Dongtan Beach’s current footpath, when circumstances arise. Most importantly Tui’s Place has been assured that any inconvenience to our guest house and of course; our wonderful guests will be minimalised and access to the gay beach itself - will not be affected. Finally, please be advised that Tui’s Place will provide regular updates to this much needed improvement to Dongtan Beach’s infrastructure. Should you have individualised questions though you would like answered, please do not hesitate to contact us - as it is always our very great pleasure to serve our guests. Thank you.
